TAPESTRY, has been performing in Victoria, BC since 2009. John Shaw plays guitar, piano, harmonica and provides vocals and Sharon provides vocals and some percussion instruments.

JOHN: When John isn't dreaming of his musical career (which is most of the time) he's busy working as a teacher at a local middle school. He started playing guitar and piano in his teens and loves to compose and perform.

His piano range has been growing over the years, particularly since his lessons with George Essihos, a respected Victoria jazz piano teacher and performer. John also composes his own songs for piano and guitar.

SHARON: Sharon is still trying to decide what she's going to do when she grows up, but in the meantime is involved in photography, marketing and website design.

She loves to sing and played piano during her youth, and also studied some flute in Paris. Perhaps some day Sharon will add these instruments to TAPESTRY'S repertoire. Sharon's musical influences also derive from her father's Irish roots (blarney), and chutzpah from her mother's Jewish roots!

And thank-you to Terri Walowina for her wonderful seaside photos of us!
